Our Sick Week......

Boys at clinic.....Elijah was REALLY sick and still managed to give a weak smile..poor guy!
Well since our last post everyone has been under the weather so things have been a tad rough this week. The older boys came down with a fever and no other symptons...so I treated the temps with rounds of motrin and tylenol and of course lots of  popsicles followed by lukewarm baths. Tuesday was Dr. day....with all children looked at...swabbed for strep throat (which is going around) and lungs listened to. I really thought my boys might have strep as they get it and rarely have a single symptom or complain. It makes it tough when they are all sick and just not up to par. Josiah was spiking high fevers...Elijah was EXTREMELY whiny and grumpier than normal....Zechariah had a tough time sleeping as they all had terrible croupy coughs and Mr. Obabdiah seemed a tad irritable but otherwise was his happy self. With all that being said I was suprised to hear no one had strep throat or Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease. So, home I went....2 days later nothing changed so I told Mike that I was not going to go through the weekend again with sick children and made appointments again on Friday. Long story short...Josiah tested positive with strep throat so I opted to put the 3 older boys all on antibiotics.

yummmmm........
I am glad that as of today (Sunday afternoon) they are all feeling better and definetly getting back to their "normal" selves. Even though they werent feeling the greatest this week, I tried to keep their minds and bodies busy. Thursday, Mike and I took them for a nice evening walk in the strollers. I took all 4 to the park Saturday afternoon and they played for 2 hours! Last nite Mike took the older 3 to Chuckie Cheese and I had a nice hour to myself with Obadiah walking around JOAnn Fabrics....thank you Mike! :)  I am praying this week is alot smoother and I see happy healthy children!
[Disclaimer: Some may find my blog posting a bit odd....my reasoning is such: I want to be more faithful to blogging so it becomes a habit to have a written memory of my childrens baby/toddler years. Every 20 posts that I do I have my blog printed and put into a soft cover book....it is wonderful to have and look back on! So, thus being said EVERYTHING can be blogged about...The good, the bad and the Ugly!]

  1. Oh no! So sorry to hear that everyone has been under the weather. Yesterday and today Jacob has been whining with a runny nose. I am wondering if he is cutting teeth. NO FUN!!! Glad things are looking up. You are a great mamma...hang in there! :)
