What does the word Dedication/Dedicated mean? I looked it up in the Websters 1828 Dictionary and used the definition that suits what I am best using the word for.
Dedicate: 1. to set apart for worship of a deity or devote to a sacred purpose. 2. to set apart seriously for a special purpose.
Dedicated: faithful.
Dedication: wholehearted devotion.
This past Sunday evening, September 2nd 2012 Michael and I publicily DEDICATED our youngest 3 children to the Lord. Our church holds dedication services every couple of years and the last one was when Josiah was 7months old. It is an exciting time yet hits me smack in the face to realize that motherhood is an awesome responsibility. The wonder that these 4 boys have been given to us to love, train, guide and care for....my what a joy. I know it is both our intentions and desire to be good parents and to want the Lords will for our boys. Because there is NO other JOY in this world than IN the middle of God's will and design for our life. We must pray and devote ourselves to training them to come to know the Lord and then to ultimitely serve and LOVE the LORD with ALL their hearts.
We made a big deal about the night by preparing the boys for a special night at church. We invited Yia Yia. We picked out our best clothes to wear and took pictures....explained what was going to happen and then we topped the night off with ice cream at Dairy Queen.
